Indianapolis, March 25 – Lt. Richard A. Raub of Greencastle,
newly promoted from 1st Sgt took command of the Putnamville State
Police Post today. Raub succeeds Eugene R. St. John of Martinsville, who was
reduced from Lt. to Trooper several weeks ago. The promotion was announced by
Supt. Arthur M. Thurston yesterday after being approved by the State Police
Board. The new commander, a native of DeKalb County, joined the force at Ligonier
in 1941. He served as corporal at Connersville before going to Putnamville in
1945. He is a Republican. Trooper Raymond I. Foltz, a Democrat was promoted to
first sergeant to replace Raub. A native of Clinton, he joined the force at
Putnamville in 1933. He served nearly 10 years as detective. - kz
