RANDOLPH, John H., PO Fillmore, Farmer, Section 32; was born in Fayette County, KY July 25, 1816; settled in this township and county 1853. Was married Feb 15, 1844 in Fayette co Ky to Mary, daughter of Nathaniel and Hannah Ford, he a native of NJ and she Ky. Mrs. Randolph was born in Fayette Co KY Feb 5, 1818; by her union with Mrs. Randolph had 5 children: William H., born Dec 6, 1844, died Dec 16, 1865; Harriet F., born July 31, 1846; John W., born Oct 15, 1849; Francis D., born Oct 4, 1853; Ettie born Feb 18, 1859; Mrs. Randolph died March 10, 1877, an irreparable loss to her family; in loving respect of her memory, they have erected a handsome monument over her grave in Fillmore. Mr. Randolph was the 9th in a family of 11 children, 5 of whom are still living; his father, Moses Randolph was a native of NJ; his mother, Sarah Cromwell was born in MD. He has a farm of 315 acres of good land, finely improved, a few of which, together with the portraits of himself and wife will be found in this atlas. His motto for life has been the Golden Rule - a noble one to follow. He is a member of the Presbyterian Church to which body his wife belonged; her mother is still iving and resides with him.
