NELSON, Thomas J. PO Morton, Farmer, Section 1; was born March 22, 1843; in this township; son of James I. Nelson born 8 Feb 1796 in Montgomery County, KY and Polly Yates born in KY May 1, 1803; they settled in this county 1829. Has been twice married; Oct 10, 1865 and Oct 10, 1876; 3 children: Ella A, James I and Omer J (deceased). Mr. Nelson is the 12th of a family of 14 children, all living but one. He owns 160 acres of fine land; engaged principally, in raising stock; is enterprising in business and progressive in thought; has been for 20 years a consistent member of the ME Church.
