McCULLOUGH, William, P. O. Reelsville, Farmer, Section 9, was born June 20, 1830, in this township and county; son of William and Lavina McCULLOUGH, who settled in this county 1830; then the country was new and very sparsely settled, his father being on of the pioneers who helped to clear " the forest primeval," and make this part of the country whit it is. He has been dead sixteen years, but left visible traces of his lief'e labor. Mr. McCULLOUGH was married in 1850 to Elizabeth MACE, of Clay County, Ind.; their children's names are: William J., born in 1851, and died in 1859; George W., aged twenty-four years; Mary Elizabeth, twenty-one years; Thomas Newton, nineteen years; Moses, sixteen years; Henry J., thirteen years; Janetta Ann, Ten years Vancleve, eight years; Alma Jan, five years. Mr. McCULLOUGH never had the advantage of a thorough education, but appreciates the benefits of it and is trying to give all his children at least a good business education. He is a careful business man, industrious and economical, prompt in meeting his obligations and is respected by all who know him; his wife, who is a few months younger than he, and family live happily together in a good comfortable home.
