Lebanon, Ind May 3- Dr. Clement T. Malan, former state superintendent of public instruction today was elected Boone County superintendent of schools. Dr. Malan, resident of Lebanon for the past two years, succeeds Paul W. Nicely, who becomes associate professor of education, license adviser and director of teach placement at Butler University in June. Nicely had been schools superintendent for more than 5 years. Dr. Malan was state superintendent for three terms, serving from march 15, 1941 to March 15, 1947. He was principal at Russellville HS, Putnam County seven years. For the last year he has been teaching classes for Indiana State Teacher’s College at Delphi, Winamac, Monticello and Lafayette. Dr. Malan is author of two textbooks, Indiana School Law and Character Education.
