Hortense Call Barr Ancestors

Descended from Jacobus Hines (commonly called Jacob Hines), who was born in New Castle Co, Del. on the 28th day of Oct, 1752 and died in Union Township in Parke County, Indiana in 1844.

Hortense Call Barr was born in Urbana, Champaign, Illinois, daughter of George W. Call, born Apr 8, 1836 and his wife Elina Catherine Copenhaver, born Aug. 20, 1841, married Nov. 17, 1861.

The said George W. Call was the son of Samuel Call, born 1811, died 1891 and his wife Rebecca Hines, born Mar. 28, 1816 (living in 1910), married 1832.

Rebecca Hines was the daughter of Henry Hines, born in fort in Maryland in 1777 and died in Missouri and his wife Ellen Cooper, died in Missouri, married 1798.

Henry Hines was the son of Jacobus Hines, b. 28 Oct 1752, died 1844 and his wife Priscilla Evans, married 1775-6.

Jacobus Hines is the ancestor who assisted in establishing American Independence, while acting in the capacity of Private and later as ass't to commissary. Ancestor's Services Enlisted as Private at Chester, Md., Apr. 1775. 4 days under Capt. John Watkins; Aug. 1777--4 months under Capt. John Watkins and Col. Gen. Morgan March 1779--3 mos. under Marmaduke Tildan, Alexander Anderson. 6 or 8 mos. Ass't to Commissary, John Batten.

Battles engaged in Paoli & Germantown & storming of a Fort in Md.

My Revolutionary ancestor was married at Chester, Md. in 1775. Children:
Henry Hines, born 1777, married Ellen Cooper, Jacob Hines.
