HEDGES, J. W. (John W.) , druggist, Bloomingdale, is a native of Illinois, born July 21, 1849, and at two years of age his parents removed to Parke County, where they remained for some years, after which they removed to Montgomery County, Indiana. His father, M(orris) F. Hedges, was a Baptist minister, having acted in that capacity for a great many years in Montgomery, Parke and Putnam counties, and is now administering the gospel to the people of Chautauqua, Kansas. J. W. . Hedges came to Bloomingdale in 1879, and engaged in the drug business, and by his courteous treatment has not only built up a good trade, but has gained many friends. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity, No. 127, which meets at Annapolis.
