HATHAWAY, William, PO Greencastle, Farmer, Section 25; born March 4, 1837, Montgomery County Ky; son of David and Elizabeth Hathaway, natives of KY who settled in 1842 in this county. William settled here 1866. Married November 20, 1866, to Elizabeth, fourth daughter of Thomas and Betsy Gillespey; four children - William born September 9, 1867; Josie, May 17, 1870; Maggie B, June 9, 1874; Clyda March 1, 1878. Is an enterprising farmer, the owner of 40 acres of fine land and bears the character of an honest, upright man. Adheres to the Democratic Party.
