Miss
Angie Gray of Putnam County, near Greencastle, Ind had from birth a "cleft
palate" which prevented articulation and she was quite as much debarred
from general social advantages as the deaf mute. Since a recent surgical
operation upon her palate by Dr. Totten, the well-known dental surgeon of
Crawfordsville, she talks well and is desirous in this public way of expressing
her gratitude to him and of informing others similarly afflicted where their
