GOSE, Mildred Cooper - Putnam

GOSE, Mildred, PO Putnamville, Sec 21; born Sept 16, 1839 this township, daughter of Archibald and Elizabeth COOPER. Married WIlliam O. Gose March 8, 1860. CHildren: Isadora A, born May 3, 1861; Mary E, June 6, 1863; Emma R Aug 11, 1864. William O. Gose joined the army in 1864 was unfortunately soon after taken prisoner at Franklin Tenn and sent first to Meridian and then to Andersonville prison in which pen of suffering his health gave way in April 1865 was exchanged and sent to the hospital at Jefferson Barracks, where, after a months illness died and was buried there; but his bereaved wife, who arrived a week after had his remains removed and laid in Bethel grave yard. She lives in the old hom eplace with her three daughters and is in every respect an exemplary woman.
