GORHAM, GEORGE (deceased); was one of the pioneers of the county; the toil and hardship that necessarily fall to the lot of frontiersmen were his, but a brave heart, willing hands and the cheering help of his noble wife carried him successfully through the years of struggle; he was born in Bourbon County, Ky., February 5, 1818; the son of Alexander and Sarah TYLER-GORHAM, who also came in early days to the county. In 1840, May 13, he was married to Emerine, daughter of Israel and Margaret MOSS. They had a large family, eleven children, viz., Israel, Oliver B., William (deceased), Mary E., John, Ruth A., Jennie (deceased), Willard, George (deceased), Stephen A. D. and Emma M. He died August 13, 1877, tended and comforted in his last hours by a devoted wife and loving children.
