GLOVER, Robert. P. O. Fincastle, Farmer Sec 31; was born June 13, 1831 in Bath Co KY; the son of Walker Glover (born in same place Aug 14, 1804) and Frances Glover (native of the same county and state born Dec 25, 1805); they died in Callaway Co MO where they had emigrated when Robert was about 10; his grandafther Moore brought the family back to Ky where he grew to manhood. He married Sept 2, 1852 a year after coming to this county Amanda, daughter of William and Mary Ann Aldridge by whom he had one child, who died in infancy. His wife dying June 10, 1856 he was again married April 2, 1857 to Lucinda Mitchell who bore him one child, it also dying in infancy. Losing his second wife on Oct 27, 1876 he was united to his present wife, Amanda Henkle, April 10, 1877 who gave birth to a daughter, Frances M., on Jan 21, 1878. With the exception of 10 months spent in the army during the Mexican War, enlisting in 3rd Ky Infantry, Capt. Ewing's company, Mr. Glover has always been occupied in farming, owning now 104 acres of land. He is a Democrat and enterprising man. Mrs. Glover is the daughter of Simon and Mahala Henkle and was born Aug 20, 1848; her father was born in Roanoke Co VA Sept 17, 1802; settled in this county 1827 and died March 9, 1877; was a devoted Christian and member of the Christian Church since June 25, 1856; his wife died Jan 8, 1858; his father settled in this county about 1827.
