GILLESPEY, Thomas - Putnam

Mr. Gillespy was born April 10, 1810 in Clinton County,  Ohio and in 1838 he moved to Putnam County when it was but a wilderness and helped clear the land.  He says there was but one other man here then.  Sept 19, 1839 Mr. Gillespey married Betsey F. Farrow and 14 children are the result of their union 7 boys and 7 girls.  On the 19th of last September the old couple celebrated their golden anniversary and their children were all at home with the exception of one.  In politics he is a Democrat.  As a resident of the count 61 years, he is one of the oldest. - kbz
