ALBERT GARDNER

Source: Greencastle Herald, 6 Jan 1913 p 1

Albert Gardner, county commissioner, this morning, was elected president of the Board of County Commissioners. Mr. Gardner’s term as county commissioner expires next January and at that time he will have served two terms of three years each. It is the custom of the county commissioner to elect the commissioner having served the longest as president of the board. Mr. Gardner succeeds George Raines, whose term as county commissioner expired January 1 as president of the board. Mr. Gardner for five years has been one of the best county commissioners ever holding office in Putnam County. Conservative, yet progressive in his ideas Mr. Gardner has always served the tax payers to the utmost of his ability. No man has made a better record as an office holder of Putnam County than Mr. Gardner. -- kbz
