FRAKES, Joseph, PO Greencastle, Teacher, Sec 35; born Dec 22, 1828 in Montgomery Co KY; son of Joseph and Jane Allison Frakes, natives of Ky; settled in this county in 1852 in Monroe Township. Married May 15, 1859 in Illinois, to Phoebe, daughter of E. and Hannah Latman, natives of Ky; children's names - William H (deceased); Effie, Martha A, James C, William T (Deceased), Imri and Nannie, twins (deceased), Sally and Joseph. Mr. Frakes has devoted his life to teaching, being deeply interested in universal education and culture; served for a time as County Surveyor. Politically, he is Democrat. His father moved to Missouri when 75 and there died; his mother died in Ky.
