FARROW, J. W.

JW Farrow is the people’s party nominee for register of deeds and there is but little to say about the Office – the days of the townsite boomer are over and the mortgages are nearly all foreclosed and the prerequisites of this office are growing few and far between. The work is mostly clerical and a good copyist counts for much in this work. As to The Man – JW Farrow was born n Putnam County, Indiana in 1857. Lived on the farm till about 13 years of age, when he moved to Greencastle. He graduated from the Greencastle schools in 1874 then took a course in the DePauw University then graduated from the Byrant & Stratton Commercial College at Indianapolis. He came to Kansas in 1883 and moved onto a farm on the Walnut, adjoining Gordon, where he has lived ever since. Mr. Farrow has served one term as township trustee most successfully and while his reelection was urged, he positively declined. He is not a place hunter. His nomination for this office is because of his popularity at home, and known fitness for the office. Mr. Farrow is a quiet, unassuming gentleman, is a populist because of the inherent ideas of right which he has and will be a credit to the party he represents and a true servant to the whole people. He is not a partisan and would scorn to be other than just and many, neither dealing with political friend or foe. - kz
