FALL, Martha Emaline Jones

MARTHA EMALINE JONES FALL

Source: excerpt from Fahl-Fall Book:

“After Jesse returned to live with his mother and stepfather, William Thompson, he was sent to the typical Hoosier, one-room school house. Here he met Martha Emaline Jones who was a tall, slender girl with dark eyes and coal-black hair. (Jesse had light hair and blue eyes).....They were married 3-17-1846 and set off for the land near Raccoon Creek which Christian Fall, Jr had bought and where Jesse Goff Fall had been born (Putnam Co about 2 miles from Raccoon). They first lived in a small cabin, but as the family increased they built a four room house near the road. …” It says this story was part of what Frances Epperson Winslow, a granddaughter, wrote for the local newspaper in 1925, about her mother’s girlhood (based on information from Eliza Jane Fall Epperson).
