Announcement of his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Judge of Superior Court Room 3 was made yesterday by WO Dunlavy, an attorney with offices at 315 Indiana Trust building. Mr. Dunlavy was a candidate in 1922 for the nomination for Judge of Superior Court Room 4 and, without organization support was defeated by Judge Clinton H Givan by only 1,959 votes. Mr. Dunlavy was born in Putnam County was educated in the Central Normal School at Danville and Valparaiso University. He taught school in Putnam County before studying law and was graduated from the Indiana Law School in 1899, and since that time has been engaged in practice in Indianapolis. He has served many times as special judge and judge pro tem in the courts of Marion County and in 1920 was judge pro tem of Superior Court, Room 1 while Judge WW Thornton was in Europe. He is a member of Indianapolis Lodge 56, Knights of Pythias, the Modern Woodmen of America and the Broadway ME Church. He was secretary of the Marion County Republican Central Committee in 1912 and from 1914-1918.
