DODD, Sarah Stultz - Putnam

DODD, Sarah PO Carpentersville, residence Section 26; born March 27, 1817 in Stokes Co NC, daughter of Philip Stultz born in Stokes Co NC died 1841 and Catherine Ketner Stultz born in the same county, same state, died about 1864 who settled in this county 1832 in Sec 33 of this township. She was married Dec 18, 1833 in this township to Woodson P. Dodd, the son of John and Mary Dodd, natives of Franklin Co VA where their son Woodson was born Dec 9, 1808. Mr. Dodd came to this county a poor man, but his energy and the assistance of his industrious wife secured to him land amounting to 198 acres; he died Dec 23, 1876 leaving behind an honored reputation. Mrs. Dodd is the 8th in a family of 11 children and has herself had 10 - Marion, born July 26, 1835; Julia Ann born July 18, 1837; Lioney born June 26, 1839; Jane born Sept 4, 1841; Tazwell born Jan 11, 1844; Margaret C. born Aug 14, 1846 died 1850; John born Feb 2, 1849; Ennis born Dec 13, 1851 died 1853; Anderson R. born May 11, 1854 died 1870; Marshall J. born July 6, 1857.
