DARNALL, Martha J. Makemson - Putnam

DARNALL, Martha A, PO Bainbridge, residence on Sec 35; was born Oct 25, 1829 in this county; daughter of James Makemson born Harrison Co KY Sept 1796 and Leah Catherwood Makemson born in PA Nov 29, 1792, the fahter settled in this county 1827 mother 1828. Married Jan 16, 1855 in this township, Levi W. Darnall, son of William G. and Amelia Darnall, natives of KY; born in Montgomery County KY April 6, 1824 and came to this county with his parents in 1835 who settled in Monroe Twp. There were born to them six children, viz: James O born NOv 20, 1855; Maria c, June 30, 1858 died March 12, 1859; Annie Jan 7, 1860; William A. Sept 9, 1862; Fred Dec 22, 1864; Carrie J, Sept 12, 1867. Mr. Darnall died Dec 17, 1877 he had been married before his union with the present Mrs. Darnall to Martha J. Makemson by whom he had 4 children: Milton T. Darnall, of Monroe Twp being only one alive. Mrs. Darnall is the only living represenative of her father's family her sister, Elizabeth J, wife of James M. Deardruff dying Sept 5, 1868. Her father at time of his death Jan 21, 1871 was owner of 160 acres of well improved land, his wife, a member of the Presbyterian Church died March 5, 1873. They were married in Harrison Co KY Oct 21, 1828.
