JACOB CROSBY, retired farmer, resides on section 17, Jackson Township, where he owns 200 acres of well cultivated land. He was born in Mason County, Kentucky, June 8, 1806, a son of William and Catherine Crosby; of English-German ancestry. He came to this county in 1834, locating upon his present farm two years later. He was married in Kentucky in 1841, to Eleanor Osborn, born in that State in 1805. Six of their eight children are living--William, Elasha, Anderson G., of Jackson Township, Samuel K., Catherine wife of John Radford, Mary, wife of John Wright, has three children--Eva, Lillie L. and Mirble. Mr. Crosby has served as trustee of his township and has held other local offices. In politics he is a Democrat.
