G.W. CLARK, farmer, Ladoga was b. in Shelby Co Ky in 1813 and is the son of William and Betsy (BLADES) Clark, who were natives of Ky, and removed to Parke Co In 1825; thence to Mont Co about 1831 and settled in Clark Twp where they lived till their death. Mr. Clark was b. Oct 26, 1791 and d. Sept 5, 1846. Mrs. Clark was b. Feb 20, 1793 and d. about 1864. On Dec 23, 1838 the sub. of this sketch marr. Priscilla MANNERS daughter of James & Lettice (HIGHT) Manners. Her father was a native of Md and mother of Ky and came to Monroe Co In, thence to Putnam Co about 1830 they removed to Mont Co where they both died. Her father was b. March 30, 1793 and d. March 19, 1871; and her mother July 19, 1793 d. Feb 3, 1870. Mrs. Clark taught school for a # of years in this County in an early day. she has been a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for 42 years, and Mr. C. has been a lifelong republican.
