Greencastle Jan 20 James L. BROWNING former treasurer of Putnam Co suffered a stroke of paralysis about 5 o'clock Wed evening at his home in Marion Twp just west of Fillmore Mr. Browning's entire right side was affected and he was reported to be in serious condition. Mr. Browning was just entering his home and was on the back porch when the stroke came on him. He was carried into the house by Mrs. Browning and his son, Ralph who were at home at the time. Thursday morning he was in about the same condition as late as Wed night. Mr. Browning is one of the widely known farmers and stock men of his county and served two terms as county treasurer.   --- typed by kbz
