9. Bryant BRINTON was the son of ________ BRINTON, who removed from Pennsylvania to Kentucky at an early age and lost his life in or near Perryville in that State. He had a brother, Samuel BRINTON, who resided in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and who was a member of Congress from that district during which time he died; he was also a presiding elder in the Methodist Church. Bryant BRINTON married a Miss Tharp (Thorp?). daughter of Perry Tharp(?), a Revolutionary solider. Children: i. Perry, m. Angeline ALBIN ii. A daughter, m. William B. VESTAL, of Greencastle, IN
10. Perry BRINTON, son of Bryant and _______ Tharp(?), of Putnam County, Illinois, married Angeline ALBIN. Children: i. William B., b 8-23-1851; m. Rhoda WYETH.
11. Col. William B. BRINTON, son of Perry and Angeline (ALBIN) BRINTON, was born August 23, 1851, near Greencastle, Indiana. He married, October 29, 1873, in Douglas County, Illinois, Rhoda WYETH, of that county. She was born January 31, 1851, in Coles County, Illinois. After their marriage, they resided in Tuscola, Illinois, until 1897, from then until 1905 in La Salle, after which they removed to Dixon, Illinois, where they now live. He is president of the Peru Plow and Wheel Company, also of the Grand Detour Plow Company, and a director in the National Association of Agricultural Implement and Vehicle Manufacturers. He was commissioner from Illinois to the Omaha and Buffalo Exposition, delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1908 and in 1912, and is now mayor of Dixon. Children: i. Helen, b. 9-29-1874 ii. Bradford, b. 6-26-1880; m. Catherine Bell METCALF.
--- Notes added by Megan McNary 29 Mar 2007: Some of the information above may contain errors or be incomplete. For instance, Perry BRINTON was from Putnam County, Indiana, not Illinois. Also, Bryant and Mary had more than two children. Mary THARP/THORP and Perry & Angeline BRINTON are buried in New Providence Cemetery in Jefferson Twp, Putnam County, Indiana.
