BRIDGES, Robert L, PO Fincastle, Farmer Sec 18; born Oct 18, 1831 in Montgomery Co KY; son of Charles B. Bridges born KY Oct 30, 1800 and Rachel O. Lockridge Bridges, born KY Oct 30, 1812, who settled in this county in 1836. Was married Oct 14, 1852 in Russell Twp, to Catherine, daughter of John and Cassandra Leaton, natives of Ky, who was born in this county March 24, 1834; their children's names are: Chalres B; Mary A; John L; William; Clay; Elizabeth and Rachel. Mr. Bridges is one of the largest land owners in the county and his residence the finest in Franklin Twp; Beside attending to his farm, he is engaged in mercantile pursuits in Fincastle. Politically, is a Greenback Democrat and in religion a Universalist. He is one of the most prominent enterprising men in the county.
