BRACKNEY, Clark, PO Greencastle, Farmer, Sec 25 born Sept 19, 1833; son of Eli, a native of VA one of the first settlers of Monroe Township and Rebecca Wright Brackney, a native of PA who settled in this county in 1826. Married Jan 3, 1854, Lucy E, daughter of Daniel and Margaret Harrah, natives of Ky. 10 children: Sarah J; Nancy C; Rebecca; Daniel C; Joseph E; Margaret E; Millard F; Frank; Mary O; Chalres L. Mr. Brackney is a public spirited man and served as Township Trustee two years was the first to levy a special school tax and lengthened the term from 51 days to 5 months, is known among his neighbors as a reliable man; is a Granger and member of the Masonic fratenity. Politically, a Democrat.
