Indianapolis Attorney Announces Candidacy for Place on Democratic Ticket
MM Bachelder (Muter Miller) an attorney has announced that he will seek the Democratic nomination for joint senator for the counties of Marion, Morgan and Putnam. The nomination will be made by a delegate convention. Mr. Bachelder, so far as known is the only Marion County man seeking the nomination.  Friends of Mr. Bachelder point out that he has a substantial advantage because of the fact that he is well acquainted with Putnam County where he was born and reared, besides having a wide acquaintance and many good friends in Morgan County.  After eight years’ successful practice at the Marion County bar, Mr. Bachelder says he desires to make his first essay as a seeker for public office.  Previously to his coming to Marion County, Mr. Bachelder practiced law in Montgomery County.  – Indianapolis Star. – Muter Bachelder is a former Greencastle man, having spent his early life in this town. He often is in Greencastle, having considerable practice in the Putnam Circuit Court.

A head-on-collision on the Indiana Union Traction Company railroad near Fortville, Indiana occurred on Friday night about 8 o’clock. Two passenger cars running at full speed came together with a crash, killing Motorman Minzer and injuring 16 people. Among the injured is Muter M. Bachelder of Indianapolis formerly of this city; his injuries are not serious.

The case of the Ladoga Canning company against the Bainbridge Canning Company is now in the hands of the jury. The arguments were finished about 3 o’clock this afternoon. Judge Hughes then gave the jurors their instructions and also a number of interrogatories to answer. TC Peck made the opening argument for the Ladoga Company. John H. James and John P. Allee, both for the Ladoga company following.  Muter Bachelder, attorney for the Ladoga company made the closing arguments. - kbz
