Notes on David Alspaugh, taken from DAR pension application of Delilah C. Thomas

David Alspaugh, was born in Germany in 1757 and lived in Lincoln Co. Ky
and died in War under Gen. Wayne, killed by the Indians in 1794. His place
of residence during the Revolution was Berks Co, Pennsylvania.

Delilah Thomas was born in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, daughter of Ferdinand
C. Stauch, born 23 Mar 1860, died 10 Feb 1898 and his wife Clara Hogue
Miller, born 4 Sep 1864, (living 12 Jun 1928 when application received),
married 13 May 1889.

Clara Hogue Miller was the child of Hiram Lewis Miller, born 8 May 1826,
died 26 Apr 1894 and his wife Sarah Jane Tresner, born 11 Jul 1827, died
28 Jun 1894, married 3 Aug 1850.

Sarah Jane Tresner was the child of Peter Tresner, born 1803 and died Sep
1843 of typhoid fever and his wife Barbara Alspaugh, born 5 Oct 1803, died
Sep 1843 of typhoid fever, married 1821.

Barbara Alspaugh was the child of Isaac Alspaugh, born 5 Jun 1799, died 26
Sep 1838 in Putnam Co, IN and his wife Jane Cosby, born 11 Apr 1780 and
died 24 Jan 1829 in Mercer Co, KY, married 3 Jul 1800.

Isaac Alspaugh was the child of David Alspaugh, born 1757, died 1794 and
his 2nd wife, Barbara Thrush, married 1778.

David Alspaugh served as a Private in the War for Independence.

Family Records: All family data in these papers are taken from the old
family records that are in the possession of our family. These old records
were lost for 47 years and were found after I (Delilah Thomas) had
submitted my first papers. (They are now in the DAR Library).

David Alspaugh married 1st Mary Smith-Kraut (widow) at Berks Co,
Pennsylvania, 1775

2nd Barbara Thrush at Berks Co, Pennsylvania, 1778

Children: By first wife had twin daughters

Polly, Jan 1778, married David Smick
