Married Oct 26, 1873 Marcia J, daughter of Cannon and Mary Wingate; children: Eva L. and Paul J. Received a legal education was admitted to the bar in 1878 and has since been engaged in teaching; is devoted to his work and interested in all that tends to the elevation of his fellowmen. Belongs to the Democratic party and is a member of the Presbyterian Church.
