“Brief Biographies of Candidates .. for Judge of the Marion Circuit Court” - Henry Clay Allen, Republican, was born in Putnam County in 1844 and served as a private in the 16th Indiana Infantry. After the war he was graduated from Asbury College, now DePauw University. He studied and practiced law in Kansas and was mayor of a small town in that state. He is a member of the Board of Park Commissioners. For two years he was attorney for the Citizens’ Street Railroad Company.
