2 | St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery is located just south of county roads 200 South and 1200 West in White Post twp. Pulaski County, IN. This cemetery is commonly called the Bowman cemetery for a family that lived nearby in the early years. It originated in 1870 when 2 Gunter children died and the Gunter family donated this space for a cemetery. The burials in this cemetery are unique in that citizens were buried in the rows as they died rather than with family members or in family groups. Begin ROW 1 of the North section in the northeast corner of the cemetery. Read south to the middle driveway and then go back to the north end and step west for the next row. The South section begins beside this driveway on the East end of the cemetery and reads south. Go back to the driveway and step west to begin ROW 2 in this section. This cemetery is the final resting place of multiple German families who immigrated from Northern Germany and settled in the area. At one time a small county German church was located on the west side the county road across from the cemetery. Many of the older tombstones are in German script. Some genealogical date added.
