Wasson Cemetery - Burial site for pioneers of this community from 1845 to about 1878. The Land was formerly part of the adjacent farm owned by Joseph Wasson, Who was buried here in 1847. Cleared and renovated by the Pulaski County Historical Society and marker erected in 1987. This area is known as Dead Man's Hollow, because of an accident which occurred near here on May 3, 1848. John Turner of Monroe County, driving a team to LaPorte, was killed when the horses botled and the load tipped over on him. He was buried in ththis cemetery, the grave stone later erected by his son. First read by Jack Krasner in 1969, and another attempt in 1972 by Orval and Betty Burgess and Julia Binkley. Joseph Wasson gave land from his farm for this cemetery, hence the name "Wasson Cemetery". The cemetery is in poor condition and there is no longer a way to tell where the rows are. This listing is an alphbetical listing using the last known reading and other information regarding the cemetery.. Sad when the information is lost over time. This is our attempt to retain at least what we have.
