JOE W. WOOTEN
Joe W. Wooten, 61, of 330 Pearl street, a former local insurance
agent, later an employee of Archie Cross' Cafe and in recent months a local
agent of O'Daniel Coal Co., Henderson, Ky was found dead in the alley in the rear of the R. &
M. Cafe at 311 Main street early today.

The head was against the cafe building and they body and legs lay
in the alley in view from
Coroner Ferrel J. Meinschein
said there was no evidence that Wooten met a violent end and his verdict
probably will be death from natural causes. Wooten had been dead several
hours when the body was found.

A daughter, Martha Wooten, was football queen of
Surviving, in
addition to the daughter, are the wife, Eunice Leath
Wooten' two sons, William, Nashville, Tenn., and Pfc,
Joe C Wooten, U.S. Army, Fort Campbell, Ky; three
grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Martha Lucille Scott, New York City and a
brother, B.E. Wooten, Gallatin, Tenn.
