DELLA A WHIPPLE

Mrs. Della A. Whipple, 70, wife of Warren Whipple of Miami, Fla., and a native of Posey county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eugene Crowder, 630 Third street, Henderson, Ky., at 10:45 a.m. Sunday (27 Jun 1954).  She had been ill since October of last year.

The deceased was the daughter of John Sam Alldredge and Sally Welborn Alldredge and was a member of Welborn Methodist Church.  She had resided with her daughter for the past 14 years.

Near surviving relatives in addition to the husband and daughter are three sons, Manuel M. Whipple, Chicago, Merle H. Whipple, Crystal Lake, Ill and Woodrow Whipple, Livermore, Calif; a brother, William Alldredge, of Mt. Vernon; a half-sister, Mrs. Ethel Redman, Mt. Vernon and four grandchildren.

The body has been removed to the Short Niehaus Funeral Home in this city where it will remain until the hour of the funeral.

Last rites will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. W. H. McGowan, pastor of the North Mt. Vernon Methodist parish.  Burial will be in Welborn Church Cemetery.
