MRS. CLARICE WOODY WERKING
Mrs. Clarice Pearl (Woody)
Werking, a member of a pioneer South Posey county
family of prominence and the wife of Frank D. Werking,
well known
Failing health for several years gave way to serious illness over
a 10 day period that was climaxed by a stroke.
Mrs. Werking was a devout member of
First Christian Church and very active in all departments of the church from
childhood until failing health incapacitated her. Her Christian faith was
reflected in her daily living and she had many friends.
The body is at Weisinger Funeral Home
where friends may call after
Surviving, in addition to the husband, are four sons, Francis head
of the Modern Languages Department of Evansville College, Gerald, a
construction and moving contractor at Glenwood Springs, Colo;
Paul Scott, a pulpwood contractor at Glenwood Springs, and Wilbur, stationed at
Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Ala; with the U.S. Air Force; 11 grandchildren and a
brother, John S. Woody, Glenwood Springs.
Mrs. Werking's parents were Scott Taylor
Wood and Emily Gill Woody, representatives of early local families.
The late
deceased and her husband observed their 52nd wedding anniversary last Christmas
Day.
