MARY A (MOLLIE) MOELLER WEHR
Mrs. Mary A (Mollie) Moeller Wehr, whose
almost 93 years of life had been spent in Mt. Vernon died at 8:15 a.m. today at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. E.
Swope 418 W. Fourth St.
She was the widow of Adam Wehr, a cooper
and a mill worker who died in 1948, and she was a representative of the family
that established the once flourishing cooperage industry in Mt. Vernon.
Mrs. Wehr was born April
7, 1862 in Mt. Vernon, a daughter of John Moeller and Dortha Haas Moeller.
The body is at the Weisinger Funeral HOme. Funeral arrangements are pending.
For over half a century the deceased had resided at the West Four street address where she died.
Mt. Vernon knew her as a neighborly friendly,
sympathetic person whose high Christian ideals were expressed in gentle service
and living interest in all with whom she came in contact.
For many years she was a devout and active member of the former St. Paul's Methodist Church and was organist of the church.
Later she transferred her church membership to First Evangelical United Brethren Church which she also served as organist.
For a long period of time she was a teacher of piano. Her marriage
to the late husband took place in 1898.
Surviving are a brother, Ex-Mt. Vernon Mayor John H. Moeller who now
resides in the Kueber Nursing Home in Evansville and a number of nieces and nephews. .
