MRS MARY WALLS DIES EARLY TODAY

 

Death came to Mrs. Mary Lou Treat Walls, 77 widow of James Oscar Walls, a well known Point township farmer at 12:15 a.m. today at the home of her son, Oscar J Walls, at 407 College avenue.

 

Mrs. Walls, a beloved resident for many years of Point township where her husband farmed had been ill since February and seriously ill for the last week. Mr. Walls died in 1931.

 

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home and will remain there through the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday (25 Oct 1952) in Weisinger chapel. Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery. Rev. James N. Colbert, pastor of Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church will be officiating clergyman.

 

Surviving in addition to the son, are a daughters, Mrs. Earl Walls, Mt. Vernon; three step children, Earl Walls, Mt. Vernon, I. O. Walls, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Clarence Schneider, R.R. 5 Mt. Vernon; 15 grandchildren; a brother, J. C. Treat, New Haven, Ill., and a sister Mrs. Louis A. Utley, Princeton, Ind.

 

The deceased was a native of White county, Ill., the daughter of Jefferson Treat and Mary Burgess Treat.

 

During her long residence in Point township she was an active member of Farmers Chapel of the South Mt Vernon Methodist Parish.
