Eugene M Thompson, 40, native of Posey county and in recent years residing at
100 S. Parker Drive, Evansville, died at 9:;50 o'clock Sunday (19 Jul 1953) morning in Deaconess
Hospital, Evansville.
Death was due to a coronary occlusion. He became ill while at work as
supervisor of aircraft parts inspectors at Servel,
Inc. in
The deceased was born in the vicinity of Savah, the
son of the late Walter and Layla I Thompson, but had
resided in
After his return from World War II and previous to his recall to service, Mr.
Thompson was owner-operator of a service station at
He was a member of Owen Dunn post, No., 5, American Legion.
Near surviving relatives are the wife, the former Phyllis May Rowe, daughter of
Maurice Rowe; two sons, Robert Glenn, 10 and Jon W. 6, Evansville; his mother,
Mrs. Layla I Thompson of Savah;
five brothers, Maurice, Howard and Glenn Thompson of Mt. Vernon and vicinity
and Roy and Gerald Edward, U.S. Navy and a sister Mrs. Dalton Alldredge of Mt. Vernon.
The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home and will
remain there until the time of the funeral.
Last rites will be held at the Weisinger chapel at
