Death claimed a
most estimable woman, when it ended the life of Mrs. James Streamer,
Martha Anne
Davis, daughter of Abijah and
Left an orphan
at the age of thirteen she grew to young womanhood in the home of her uncle.
A son died in
infancy; a daughter, aged 18, just flowering into womanhood; and eleven years
ago, Ota, wife of Kelley Cox departed this life.
Mrs. Streamer,
although not very strong, was an active person and alert to everything that was
going on around her. When ever there was an event of interest taking place she
enjoyed seeing what was going on and being a part of it. Her greatest pleasure
was the family gathering with her children and her home was thrown open to
neighbors and friends for quiltings, Christmas
parties and many other hospitable events. She was a wonderful mother, a good
wife and a devoted Christian, having united with the

husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Endicott of Mt. Carmel,
Ill, Mrs. Clarence Marsh of Poseyville and four sons,
Clarence and Clifford of New Harmony; Ezra and Charles of Detroit. Very near to
her heart were her thirteen grandchildren, whose delight was to go to
grandmother's house. A large circle of friends offer sincere sympathy to this
bereaved family.
