Mrs Katherine Smith Stinnett, 5729 E. New York street, Indianapolis, wife of Louis B. Stinnett, died last
night in the Hoosier capital city after illness of several weeks.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Stinnett formerly resided in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Stinnett was a Posey county
and Mt. Vernon school teacher for a number of years.
The Stinnets left Mt. Vernon in early 1920's and established
residence in Chicago where Mr. Stinnett was a grade school principal until his
retirement 10 years ago. Following his retirement they moved to Indianapolis and had resided there since.
The body will be brought to Mt. Vernon for private funeral and burial services. (Burial
was in Bellefontaine
Cemetery.)
Surviving, in addition to the husband, are a daughter, Mrs.
Elliott W. Schryver, Cronton-on-Hudson,
N..Y. two granddaughters, Ann
and Ellen Schryver, and two sisters, Miss Mary E.
Smith, a retired school teacher, and Mrs. J. R. Kuebler,
both of Indianapolis.
Mrs. Stinnett
was an aunt of Harold W. Johnson, Mt. Vernon post office clerk and past Eighth
district American Legion Commander, whose funeral services were conducted this
afternoon.
