Mrs. Annie Schisler Starken,
88 years old last March 1, whose long active life had reflect devotion to her
family and a sympathetic interest in humanity in general, died at 8:40 o'clock
Monday (29 Aug 1955) night at the
Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
Mrs. Starken's death severed marital
bonds of 68 years. John E. Starken, the
husband, a prominent retired farmer, will be 93 years old on the coming
Saturday.
Physically active and mentally alert despite her advanced years,
the deceased had been ill only since last Wednesday.
The body of Mrs. Starken is at the Short
Niehaus Funeral Home and will remain there until the

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Edgar Alldredge
and Mrs. David A. Alldredge,
Mrs. Starken was a native of Marrs township, a daughter of John
B. Schisler and Elizabeth Kueber
Schisler.
She and her husband had resided for more than 60 years at their
home on the

Evangelical and Reformed Church since girlhood, the deceased was a member of
the Ladies Aid Society of Trinity Church for many years and at one time was
president of the Aid.
