Mrs. Blanche Springer, 78, widow of Joseph Springer and a resident
of Mt.
She resided at 615 West Second street for
many years but for the last nine months had been at the nursing home. She
had been ill for two years and seriously ill for the last month.
Mr. Springer, the husband who died 11 years ago this month,
was machine shop foreman of the former Keck-Gonnerman
Co.
The body is at the Short Funeral Home in
Mrs. Springer was a member of First Methodist church for many years
and its Woman's Society of Christian Service. She was a past worthy
matron of Sunbeam chapter, No. 1 Order of Eastern Star, and had at intervals
held every major office in the lodge. She was also a member of the
Diligent Workers Home Demonstration Club of Mt. Vernon.
Nearest
surviving relatives are two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Carson, Washington, D. C. and
Mrs. Edith Lasater,
