MINNIE THOMPSON SHAW

Mrs. Minnie Thompson Shaw, 65, widow of Allen Shaw, died at 1:15 o'clock this morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville.  She had been ill for the past year and a half and had been removed from her home at 303 Vine street to the hospital a little over a week ago.

The deceased was a native of Mt. Vernon, the daughter of John H and Elizabeth Brune Thompson.  She had resided in this community all of her life.  She was a devout member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and of Sodality Poor Souls.

Near surviving relatives are a foster daughter, Mrs. William H. Lewis of Mt. Vernon; four grand daughters, Minalyn Sue, Margo Ann, Maria Elena and Monica Clair Lewis, all of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Miss Julia Thompson and Mrs. Bert Ashworth of Mt. Vernon and 11 nieces and nephews.

The body is at the Short-Niehaus funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 8:15 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Matthew's Catholic Church and Rev. Raymond Smith, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Matthew's.
