MILLARD F. ROBISON
Millard F. Robison, 81, a virtually life-time resident of Mt.
Vernon whose capability, spirit of service and integrity were reflected in
almost 60 years as a public official at Posey county and State of Indiana
levels, died at 9:15 p.m. Easter Sunday (21
Apr 1957) at his home at 831 Walnut street.
He had been ill at his home for 15 months, suffering recurring
strokes of paralysis.
An ardent Democrat, his public service rose above party
affiliation. He was successively deputy treasurer, deputy auditor and
auditor of Posey county and for 18 years was a field
examiner of the Indiana State Board of Accounts. Following retirement
from the latter position he served as deputy auditor under Auditor Loren F.
Johnson until
His accuracy was a byword and his desire to be helpful to his
constituents outstanding. He viewed public office as a public trust and
upon his requirement was recognized as one of

Survivors include the wife, May, a semi invalid and invalid for
many years to whom the deceased was devoted through 62 years of wedlock;
several nieces and nephews, among them Mrs. Paul Thompson, Evansville, whom Mr.
and Mrs. Robison reared; two granddaughters, Mrs. Robert Greenawalt
and Mrs. Robert Lawson, both of Richmond, Va., who are daughters of Mr. and
Mrs. Robison's deceased daughter, Gladys and two great grandchildren.
