MRS J C RHODES

Mrs. J. C. (Mary) Rhodes, 69, of 1608 East Indiana street, Evansville, stepmother of Mrs. Roy O. Bauer, Mt. Vernon, died unexpectedly this morning in an Owensboro, Ky., hospital.

Mr. Rhodes, a retired Southern Indiana Gas & Electric Co., line foreman, and his wife visited relatives in Owensboro yesterday.  On their return trip by auto to Evansville Mrs. Rhodes suffered the heart attack and was taken to the Owensboro hospital.

Funeral arrangements were pending this morning.  Surviving in addition to Mrs. Bauer, whom the deceased reared from the age of five years, are two son, Merle and Earl Rhodes, Evansville, and two daughters, Charles Schieber, Evansville and Mrs. Helen Rhodes, Indianapolis. (Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Evansville, IN.)

The deceased woman and her husband had frequently visited in the Bauer home in Mt. Vernon.
