EDWARD C REAGIN

Edward C. Reagin, 82, a native ad former resident of Mt. Vernon but a resident of Chicago for the greater part of his life, died yesterday at his home in Chicago.  The body will be brought to Mt. Vernon for brief funeral rites and burial.

 

The body will arrive in Evansville Sunday night and will be brought to the Short-Niehaus Funeral Home here where it will remain until it is taken to Bellefontaine cemetery for interment at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning.

 

Funeral services will be conducted in Chicago.

 

Mr. Reagin was a telegraph operator for the Louisville & Nashville railroad here for several years before being transferred to East St. Louis, Ill.  For 35 years prior to retirement he was an employ of the Missouri Pacific in Chicago as an executive in the freight department.

 

The deceased was the son of Ulysses Grant Reagin, a cabinet maker, and Eregina Reagin.  A brother, Grant Reagin, died in 1934.

 

Nearest surviving relatives are the wife, nee Alma Feldman; three daughters, Mrs. H. A.Maloney, Mrs. C. J. Murray and Mrs. P.C. Hoffman, all of Chicago; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

 

Mrs William C. Causey and Mrs. Herb Woods, Mt. Vernon, are nieces of the deceased.
