Col. John Omsby, a highly respected citizen, died last Friday (3 Nov 1905) morning.

He was a devoted member of the Baptist church; was a soldier of the Rebellion and was liked by all who knew him. He leaves three children to mourn his loss: Mrs. Lucas of Oaktown, Mrs. W. W. Fisher and William Omsby of this place. After an able funeral discourse by Eld. Radcliff of Wadesville he was interred in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery Saturday. His brother from Olney was here to attend the funeral.
