JOE OETH

Joe Oeth, 69, of 713 West Eighth street, a tinner by trade, died at 6:10 p.m. Friday (20 Jan 1956) in an Evansville hospital.

 

His brother, Ferdinand Oeth, a local grain threshing contractor for many years, died last Sunday.

 

The late deceased was a native of Marrs township and spent his entire life prior to his illness in South Posey county and Mt. Vernon.

 

The body is at Short-Niehaus Funeral Home and will remain there through the funeral service set for 2 p.m. Monday in Short-Niehaus chapel.  Rev. August E. Binder, pastor of Trinity Evangelical Reformed Church will be the officiating minister.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.

 

Surviving are the wife, Louise M; two sons, Alfred H Oeth, at home; a daughter, Mrs Malcolm Rueger, Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Oeth, Evansville; Jake Oeth, Mt. Vernon and William Oeth, Marrs township and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Barnes, Evansville and Mrs. Anna Coghill, Mt. Vernon.

 

The deceased was a life-long member of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church.  He also was a member of Mt. Vernon lodge, No 49, Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Modern Woodmen of America.
