Ferdinand (Ferd) Oeth
76, a skilled machinist and a respected, life-long resident of South Posey county, died at
He had been ill for the last 2 1⁄2 years.
In the heyday of grain threshing with steam powered separators,
Mr. Oeth operated threshing rigs on a wide scale and
spent the winter months conditioning his threshing machinery and as an employee
of Keck- Gonerman Co.
The body is at Short-Niehaus Funeral
Home and will remain there through the funeral service set for
Mr. Oeth had been a member of
Surviving are the wife, Frieda Nebe Oeth; a son, Raymond, Indianapolis, and a daughter, Ruth,
Evansville; one grandchild; four brother, Charles Oeth, Evansville, William Oeth, Marrs township, and Jake
and Joseph, Mt. Vernon, and two sisters, Mrs Ann Coghill, Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Edith Barnes, Evansville.
The deceased was a native of Marrs township. He was born on the Oeth
homestead just south of State Road 62 on the Caborn
road. His parents were Charles Oeth and
Elizabeth Winner Oeth.
His skill as a mechanic contributed to his very useful life and
his integrity was highly regarded by a legion of friends and those
with whom he had business association.
