SAMUEL B MOREHEAD

Funeral services for Samuel B. Morehead, 60, R.R. 1, Mt. Vernon, a farmer who had resided in Posey county since 1938, will be conducted Tuesday.

 

Mr. Morehead died early Saturday (23 Nov 1957) afternoon at his home.  He had been ill for seven years and seriously ill for the last five weeks.

 

The deceased was a native of Union township, Vanderburgh county, whence he came to Posey county 19 years ago.  His parents were Charles D. Morehead and Una Barker Morehad.

 

The aged father, who resides in Evansville, survives the son.

 

The body is at The Short Funeral Home and will remain there until it is taken to St. Matthew's Catholic Church, of which the deceased was a member, for Requiem High mass at 8:15  a.m. Tuesday.  Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery at Evansville.  Father Raymond B. smith, St. Matthew's Church pastor, will be the Mass celebrant and conduct the graveside service.

 

Surviving in addition to the father, are the wife, Mary E. Morehead;  two sons, James M. Oakland, Calif., and Clyde, Richmond, Ind; four daughters, Mrs. Charles York and Mrs. Wilburn E. Butts, R. R. 1, Mt. Vernon, Mrs. William K, Wagner, Evansville and Carolyn Joyce Morehead at home; two stepdaughters and a stepson, Mrs. Ronald Tindle, Mrs. Clement Kueber and William Menner, all of Evansvillle; 14 grandchildren; four sisers, Mrs. Martha Tylor; Mrs. Clarence Axton, and Mrs Andres Simigelski, all of Evansville and Mrs. Fred Salter, Dayton, Ohio, and three brothers, William, John and George M. all of Evansville.
